Aims and Scope

Specialized translation has become a central pillar of professional translation practice, encompassing diverse domains such as legal, medical, technical, scientific, financial, and audiovisual translation. As global communication expands, the demand for domain-specific expertise and terminological precision has intensified. This special issue seeks to advance scholarly understanding of specialized translation through theoretical, empirical, and applied research.

 

We invite contributions that explore how specialized translation operates within professional, academic, and technological contexts. We particularly welcome interdisciplinary studies that combine linguistic, cultural, technological, and cognitive perspectives.

 

Topics of Interest

Submissions may address, but are not limited to, the following areas:

 

·        Domain-specific translation practices: legal, medical, scientific, technical, and financial translation

·        Terminology management and knowledge organization in specialized fields

·        Corpus-based approaches to specialized discourse

·        Pedagogical frameworks for training specialized translators

·        Cognitive processes in specialized translation and interpreting

·        Technological innovation: AI-assisted translation, CAT tools, and machine translation post-editing

·        Quality assurance and evaluation in specialized translation

·        Ethics and professional standards in domain-specific translation work

·        Intercultural communication and localization in specialized contexts

 

Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished research that is not under consideration elsewhere. All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review according to the journal’s standard procedures.

Typical length: 6,000–8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
